Ecological neighborhood "Les Meuniers" in Bessancourt

Living in the heart of the landscape

Following the work of Atelier Coulon-Leblanc, we are building, along with the urban planners and the architects, a new neighborhood for Bessancourt in a landscape marked by the presence of the trees. As an old walnut orchard, the site hosts a 753,000 ft2 (floor area) housing program, activities and services.

The qualitative challenge rests on the preservation of this landscape and the inscription of the urban project and its public spaces within it.

A project focusing on the trees and vegetal structure preservation

The new district of the Meuniers relies on the conservation of the remarkable heritage of trees and the preservation of the vegetal structure of the old agricultural strap.

The water system make the geography of the talweg lisible

The project is integrated in the talweg thanks to a rainwater management system allowing a generous vegetation of the pathways, promenades and public spaces.

The seven basins bringing water to the heart of the talweg will become a large park in the south part of the neighborhood.
